Super Seed Waffles

Sunday mornings are special in our house. We try to sleep and get up slow and enjoy our morning together. I always make waffles and believe me, if we miss waffle day they let me know!! 

As with everything I feed my family, I try and make it the healthiest possible and pack the most nutrition in each recipe

Super Seed Waffels

|Serves 3-4|


1 cup whole wheat flour (or your choice)

1 Tbsp ground flaxseed

1 Tbsp hemp seeds

1 Tbsp chia seeds

2 tsp baking powder

1 Tbsp sugar (turbinado, coconut sugar, honey or maple syrup)

pinch of Himalayan salt

1 Tbsp avocado oil

1 cup cocnut milk


Preheat waffle iron.

In a high powered blender (I use a vitamix) pulse all seeds first.

Add in rest of the dry ingredients and pulse a few more times.

Now add wet ingredients to blender and pulse until just combined. Do not over mix!!

You will need a spatula to help get this batter out of the blender. Because of the flax and chia it becomes quite sticky.

Pour batter onto waffle iron (I use about 1/4 – 1/3 cup) and cook until golden brown.
